About the CSRG

The Advocacy/Knowledge Translation Committee

The Advocacy/Knowledge Translation Committee (AKTC) is a committee composed of members from both the Scleroderma Society of Canada (SSC) and the CSRG. They ensure that the fundamentals of advocacy and knowledge translation are reflected in all of the research undertaken by the CSRG. That is to say, they ensure that all research done is relayed to the public in a more coherent manner. The researchers begin by summarizing their work, which is then reviewed by members of the AKTC. They recommend modifications, helping the researchers to present the information in “lay language”, making it more accessible to the public. The SSC then distributes the summaries to patients so that they are kept informed on the latest developments in scleroderma research.
